About the Opportunity
As an Intermediate Engineer, P.Eng. - Electrical you will:
- Perform complex electrical analysis and design
- Design electrical protection and control systems (overcurrent, differential, line distance, breaker fail, reclosers, breaker controls, etc.)
- Complete electrical system modeling and analysis – including arc flash hazard analysis
- Conduct protective device evaluation/coordination
- Perform short circuit/equipment evaluation
- Supervise installation and commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot problems and develop practical solutions to correct deficiencies in electrical systems
- Manage, plan and schedule various project aspects
Qualifications:
- A four-year Electrical Engineering or Electronic Systems Engineering Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
- A Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation from a Canadian P.Eng. licensing body will be considered an asset
- 4+ years of power systems engineering experience with both design and field familiarity
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software
- Previous experience with the following would be an asset:
- Power system modeling software (EasyPower, SKM or ETAP)
- Automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, Realtime Automation Controllers)
- Communication systems and protocols (Ethernet Communications, Fiber Optics, Serial Communications, Modbus, DNP 3.0, IEC61850, SEL, IRIG-B)
- Knowledge of ElecDes software package is considered an asset
- Understanding of intelligent electronic devices (IED's)
- A valid driver's license is required
- Travel is necessary and fieldwork will be a requirement of this position
